Days of the Week – MOONday

Happy Monday, everyone!

Or, Moon-day!

Funny how this planetary object, affects waves on our planet! The tides turn, because of her will.

She is femme, vast, and purely goddess like!

When I was a little girl, anytime we were trekking back in the late hours of the night with the family, on our car ride home, I remember looking up at the moon, and seeing a face on her…the middle picture on this blog post. Maybe you see it too? Hence why I chose this pic.

It always looked like she was smiling at me. And I would smile and wave back!

I also thought, she followed me home. 🙂 Because wherever I went, there she was – Luna! I remember running and watching her follow me, and I thought, gosh am I only the one she follows?

And then, I read this quote not too long ago, maybe a year or two, and then thought….ahhh, I wasn’t the only one!

The ancient Chinese, celebrated the moon during their Mid-Autumn festival, where they studied and observed the moon’s relationship and impact on seasonal changes and agriculture. So, to celebrate the moon and their harvest (hence Mid-Autumn), they offered a sacrifice to the moon on autumn days.

For me, my own tradition, I will share with you my now little ritual I do, for usually Full Moons, but you can do New Moons too!

Go outside, one night, on a New Moon or Full Moon – more Full Moon for me, because I can see it, but knowing, on a new moon, even though you can’t see it sometimes…you know it’s still there.

Anyway, I go to the beach, where the tides are. And I find a large stick, a staff that calls to me. One that perhaps a big dog left behind, because he couldn’t carry it home or one the waves left ashore.

Then, I pick up that staff and carve out my wishes in the sand maybe even words. I write it all out on the beach, and then, when I’m done, I put my name on it. My signature, so to speak – So the ‘gods’ know I came.

Then, I stand there and bask in the afterglow of the Moon and all her glory. I let her moonlight enter ever pore of my skin, with every breath in my body. And I inhale and exhale her, in and out, in and out, with every deep breath.

I then hold my hands up to her, as if I were taking a picture portrait of her and thank her for her beauty and gift to the cosmos.

Knowing very well, as she is the mighty one who instructs the waves, I know she will carry my wishes to the stars, where they belong, to be answered.

And that, is what I do, on a full moon.  I change it up a bit, but I encourage you to make it your own magical moment.

Also, note – NEW SUPER MOON, BLOOD BLUE MOON coming up, RARE! End of month – JAN 31st 2018! Might want to crack open your hearts and work your magic with the moon that day! Howl at it, and set yourself free!

Because, I resonate with the year of the dog…and the moon, calls to me unlike no other. Like a wolf does, when he sings his songs and praises her on the edge of the cliff. To celebrate her magnificence.

This is what she does with me.

So, I ask you, do you celebrate the lunacy of the Luna (Moon?)

Or are you a Luminary? A person, who much like the moon, when she plays with the waves: a person of inspiration and influence, of the light, upon others.

Shine brightly, and Happy MOONday!

Pam
